Proactive Investors - Galliford Try Holdings PLC (LON:GFRD), the construction company, announced the appointment of Kevin Boyd as a non-executive director on Friday.

Boyd, who joins the board with immediate effect, is chairman of Genuit Group PLC (LON:GENG), the FTSE 250 manufacturer, and is a director at Bodycote Group (LON:BOY), the heat-treating company.

Alison Wood, Chair, commented: "I am delighted to welcome Kevin to Galliford Try as a Non-executive director. Kevin has extensive listed plc experience as well as strong financial and strategic expertise.”

The former Spirax-Sarco Engineering (LON:SPX) CFO will also join Galliford Try’s audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

Wood added: “[Boyd’s] appointment will also further strengthen our independence and the experience of the Board. The Board looks forward to working with Kevin."

Last month, Galliford Try said it has been awarded three major infrastructure contracts totalling £98 million.

The first contract involves a £33 million pipeline project in south London for Thames Water, aimed at supporting anticipated demand increases.

The second, a £31 million project, will see the installation of a 9km clean water pipeline in Surrey, while the third contract will see the group undertake a £34 million redevelopment of the A629 into Halifax.
