Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 8.38% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which fell 3.96% or 1.47 points to trade at 35.68 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) fell 4.10% or 1.43 points to end at 33.45 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was down 4.60% or 1.55 points to 32.11 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 14.79% or 0.6080 points to trade at 3.5020 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 11.91% or 4.47 points to end at 33.06 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) shed 11.66% or 2.07 points to 15.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 179 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 2.73% or 1.34 to $47.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.85% or 1.36 to hit $46.28 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.14% or 1.80 to trade at $1324.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.82% to 1.1026, while EUR/GBP rose 2.79% to 0.8353.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.93% at 96.52.
