Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 1.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 2.08% or 0.72 points to trade at 35.34 at the close. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) fell 0.05% or 0.002 points to end at 3.870 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) was down 0.17% or 0.07 points to 40.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 4.58% or 0.4500 points to trade at 9.3700 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 3.01% or 1.45 points to end at 46.69 and Konecranes Abp (HE:KCRA) shed 2.92% or 1.00 points to 33.21.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 117 to 24 and 11 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 1.22% or 0.63 to $50.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.47% or 0.72 to hit $48.19 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.01% or 12.45 to trade at $1246.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.68% to 1.0812, while EUR/GBP fell 0.38% to 0.8657.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 99.50.
