Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.07% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 0.52% or 0.20 points to trade at 38.87 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) added 0.20% or 0.010 points to end at 5.115 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) was up 0.20% or 0.008 points to 3.980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V), which lost 3.05% or 1.01 points to trade at 32.14 in late trade. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 2.97% or 0.1850 points to end at 6.0500 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 2.61% or 0.104 points to 3.888.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 146 to 36 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 3.07% or 1.48 to $46.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.11% or 1.45 to hit $45.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.57% or 20.25 to trade at $1308.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.1116, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.9032.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 97.23.
