Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV), which rose 2.09% or 0.90 points to trade at 43.93 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 1.76% or 0.1200 points to end at 6.9300 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 1.73% or 0.90 points to 52.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Valmt (HE:VALMT), which lost 0.28% or 0.05 points to trade at 17.83 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 0.18% or 0.08 points to end at 43.23 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 0.08% or 0.005 points to 5.990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 46 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.41% or 0.71 to $50.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.67% or 0.80 to hit $48.69 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 3.65 to trade at $1248.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1631, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8914.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.02.
