Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.54% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Konecranes Abp (HE:KCRA), which rose 2.92% or 1.04 points to trade at 36.66 at the close. Valmt (HE:VALMT) added 2.46% or 0.36 points to end at 15.00 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was up 2.41% or 0.130 points to 5.535 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 5.04% or 1.72 points to trade at 32.44 in late trade. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 1.59% or 0.1350 points to end at 8.3650 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) shed 1.30% or 0.056 points to 4.258.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 54 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.11% or 0.06 to $55.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $53.23 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.17% or 14.15 to trade at $1196.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.0733, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.8512.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 100.09.
