Investing.com – Norway equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Energy and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Yara International ASA (OSLO:YAR), which rose 2.90% or 11.9 points to trade at 422.9 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC) added 0.77% or 2.7 points to end at 351.8 and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OSLO:RCLo) was up 0.65% or 4.5 points to 694.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT), which lost 4.80% or 1.80 points to trade at 35.70 in late trade. Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OSLO:DETNOR) declined 4.06% or 2.20 points to end at 52.05 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OSLO:TGS) shed 3.69% or 6.5 points to 169.5.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 63 and 8 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.65% or 0.84 to $50.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.90% or 0.52 to hit $56.52 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.07% or 11.80 to trade at $1091.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.29% to 8.9000, while USD/NOK rose 0.83% to 8.1842.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 97.91.
