Investing.com -- Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) is weighing up a sale of its space business to streamline the company and free up cash, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing unnamed sources.
The aircraft maker is mulling the sale of its NASA business, including its Starliner space vehicle, the sources told the Journal. The move is part of new Boeing chief executive Kelly Ortberg's plan to simplify the business and strengthen the balance sheet at time when the company is struggling on multiple fronts.
Still, the plans are at an early stage and might not result in a deal.
Boeing was trading near the flatline in recent trading.
