EV charging equipment company, Blink Charging (NASDAQ:BLNK) announced, Thursday, the launch of its advanced EQ 200 charger in the UK and Ireland.
The EQ 200 represents a new generation of bi-directional chargers, aimed at enhancing the EV charging infrastructure and facilitating the transition from static to dynamic and sustainable energy management.
“The launch of our grid-ready EQ 200 charger into the UK and Irish markets is an important moment for EV charging.” Said Managing Director, Alex Calnan.
The charging unit is equipped with various connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and 2G/4G. The EQ 200 can seamlessly integrate with a wide array of load-balancing and intelligent energy management systems, supporting vehicle-to-grid (VTG) and vehicle-to-everything (VTX) capabilities.
In the future, the EQ 200's intelligent features will enable it to utilize the stored energy in an electric vehicle's battery for powering other devices in homes or offices, charging additional EVs, or even feeding surplus electricity back into the grid.
The compact design of the EQ 200 charger makes it suitable for use in various settings, including workplaces, parking facilities, and residential areas. Specifically tailored for European markets, this Level 2 (L2) AC charger boasts ISO15118 and MID certifications, delivering a power output of up to 22kW.
“Electric vehicle sales outpaced expectations in the UK last year, accounting for nearly 17% of new registrations. This continued acceleration of EV adoption demands a sophisticated EV charging infrastructure, and we hope to play our part in growing a network of future-capable chargers that supports EV ambitions.” Said Blink’s European president, Miko Haan.
Shares of BLNK are up 6.09% in mid-day trading on Thursday.
