Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Beverages & Tobacco and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) added 11.59% or 2.70 points to end at 26.00 and Lanka Ventures PLC (CM:LVEN) was up 11.55% or 5.80 points to 56.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 23.74% or 351.70 points to trade at 1130.00 in late trade. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) declined 16.05% or 229.50 points to end at 1200.10 and Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) shed 13.64% or 3.00 points to 19.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 82 and 64 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $49.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.41% or 0.21 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.43 to trade at $1258.57 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.17% to 201.125, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 153.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.61.
