Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Information Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.14% or 1.95 points to trade at 93.15 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 2.14% or 0.11 points to end at 5.25 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 1.73% or 0.49 points to 28.79 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which lost 4.27% or 3.46 points to trade at 77.52 in late trade. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 2.50% or 1.79 points to end at 69.78 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 2.30% or 1.40 points to 59.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 282 to 239 and 166 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.08% or 0.90 to $44.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.11% or 0.94 to hit $45.47 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.03% or 12.90 to trade at $1237.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 1.06% to 4.3665, while USD/PLN rose 1.55% to 3.8874.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 95.05.
