Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Information Technology and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.68% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 3.22% or 2.40 points to trade at 76.99 at the close. PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) added 3.13% or 2.00 points to end at 65.90 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 2.97% or 0.160 points to 5.550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 5.26% or 364.75 points to trade at 6575.25 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 2.62% or 0.90 points to end at 33.50 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) shed 2.27% or 0.27 points to 11.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 295 to 236 and 164 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.88% or 0.43 to $48.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.72% or 0.37 to hit $51.15 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.06 to trade at $1256.56 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.48% to 4.2049, while USD/PLN fell 0.56% to 3.8548.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 98.98.
