Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Tourism and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.42% to hit a new 3-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD), which rose 4.10% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.270 at the close. Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN) added 3.25% or 0.240 points to end at 7.630 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) was up 2.55% or 0.23 points to 9.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which lost 2.70% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.160 in late trade. Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS Class A (IS:ALCTL) declined 2.44% or 0.220 points to end at 8.800 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) shed 2.38% or 0.58 points to 23.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 183 to 152 and 70 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.21% or 2.70 to $1286.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.17% or 1.10 to hit $49.61 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.91% or 1.01 to trade at $51.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.26% to 3.6507, while EUR/TRY fell 0.18% to 3.9034.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 99.89.
