On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1229.40 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 1.29%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1226.50 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1226.50 and resistance at USD1255.60.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.16% to trade at USD86.00.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for December delivery rose 0.22% to trade at USD17.193 a troy ounce while Copper for December delivery rose 0.66% to trade at USD3.037 a pound.
