Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 5.61% or 0.43 points to trade at 8.10 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 3.03% or 0.29 points to end at 9.86 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) was up 2.87% or 1.24 points to 44.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 5.59% or 266.25 points to trade at 4500.00 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 4.44% or 2.00 points to end at 43.00 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) shed 3.96% or 0.160 points to 3.880.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 286 to 242 and 192 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.09% or 1.43 to $44.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 3.16% or 1.54 to hit $47.19 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.35% or 4.55 to trade at $1311.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.15% to 4.3657, while USD/PLN rose 0.09% to 3.9151.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 96.04.
