Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 1.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which rose 0.49% or 0.05 points to trade at 10.35 at the close. Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) added 0.03% or 0.01 points to end at 35.49 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELI1V) was down 0.30% or 0.10 points to 33.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 7.46% or 0.3220 points to trade at 3.9920 in late trade. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 5.23% or 0.30 points to end at 5.53 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 5.16% or 0.196 points to 3.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 115 to 56 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.67% or 0.30 to $44.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.35% or 0.59 to hit $43.14 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.00% or 12.35 to trade at $1242.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1275, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.7776.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.45% at 94.68.
