Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Services and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 14.29% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.80 at the close. Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC (CM:BOGA) added 12.73% or 3.50 points to end at 31.00 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 12.50% or 0.40 points to 3.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which lost 19.98% or 499.40 points to trade at 2000.00 in late trade. Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA) declined 14.54% or 9.10 points to end at 53.50 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) shed 14.40% or 437.70 points to 2602.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 157 to 70 and 16 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.85% or 1.41 to $50.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.83% or 0.97 to hit $54.02 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.98% or 11.20 to trade at $1155.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.28% to 216.095, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 140.750.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.52% at 94.90.
