Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Cement, Cement & Glass and Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.96% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Thunder Tiger (TW:8033), which rose 9.93% or 0.88 points to trade at 9.74 at the close. Precision (TW:3016) added 9.80% or 2.00 points to end at 22.40 and Anderson (TW:1528) was up 9.57% or 1.00 points to 11.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Htc Corp (TW:2498), which lost 9.95% or 9.80 points to trade at 88.70 in late trade. New Palace (TW:8940) declined 9.92% or 1.90 points to end at 17.25 and Tainan Cayman (TW:5906) shed 6.74% or 0.120 points to 1.660.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 496 to 237 and 120 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $49.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $50.55 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.21% or 2.65 to trade at $1244.75 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.29% to 32.302, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2039.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 93.97.
