On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for May delivery traded at USD51.48 a barrel at time of writing rising 4.60%.
Earlier, it traded at a session high USD51.91 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD45.33 and resistance at USD51.91.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.08% to trade at USD97.00.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for May delivery rose 4.44% to trade at USD58.80 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD7.32 a barrel.
