Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmt (HEL:VALMT), which rose 8.78% or 0.87 points to trade at 10.78 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HEL:NOK1V) added 7.53% or 0.450 points to end at 6.425 and Outotec Oyj (HEL:OTE1V) was up 3.29% or 0.200 points to 6.280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included YIT Oyj (HEL:YTY1V), which lost 4.11% or 0.24 points to trade at 5.59 in late trade. Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V) declined 2.30% or 0.0980 points to end at 4.1680 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HEL:HUH1V) shed 2.05% or 0.67 points to 32.01.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 68 and 5 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.35% or 0.18 to $53.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.23% or 0.11 to hit $48.90 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.36% or 3.90 to trade at $1089.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.0898, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.7001.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.65% at 97.85.
