Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Media and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 3.98% or 1.59 points to trade at 41.58 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.14% or 1.69 points to end at 80.79 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 1.60% or 1.95 points to 123.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 5.29% or 3.17 points to trade at 56.75 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 3.45% or 0.80 points to end at 22.40 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) shed 2.58% or 1.40 points to 52.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 292 to 235 and 116 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.55% or 0.27 to $49.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.61% or 0.33 to hit $53.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.30 to trade at $1089.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.56% to 4.1499, while USD/PLN rose 1.24% to 3.8032.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 97.76.
