Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 2.74% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Autogrill (MILAN:AGL), which rose 7.06% or 0.53 points to trade at 8.04 at the close. Tenaris (MILAN:TENR) added 5.64% or 0.6400 points to end at 11.9900 and Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) was up 5.52% or 1.07 points to 20.47 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which lost 0.26% or 0.06 points to trade at 23.38 in late trade. Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) declined 0.06% or 0.05 points to end at 81.05 and Pirelli & C (MILAN:PECI) gained 0.07% or 0.0100 points to 14.9300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 334 to 85 and 7 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.05% or 0.95 to $47.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.38% or 0.69 to hit $51.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.00% or 11.30 to trade at $1122.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.05% to 1.1110, while EUR/GBP fell 0.67% to 0.7289.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.63% at 96.48.
