Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Biomed, Technology and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 added 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 25 were Israel Corp (TA:ILCO), which rose 7.76% or 4460 points to trade at 61910 at the close. OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) added 7.52% or 257 points to end at 3675 and ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TA:ICL) was up 5.98% or 93 points to 1649 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Strauss Group (TA:STRS), which lost 1.65% or 89 points to trade at 5294 in late trade. Leumi (TA:LUMI) declined 1.60% or 21 points to end at 1290 and Discount (TA:DSCT) shed 1.47% or 9.5 points to 636.5.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 202 to 133 and 118 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.55% or 0.19 to $34.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.43% or 0.16 to hit $36.97 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.67% or 8.20 to trade at $1239.00 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.10% to 3.8870, while EUR/ILS fell 0.07% to 4.2126.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 98.51.
