Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 1.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 21.89% or 0.4780 points to trade at 2.6620 at the close. Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) added 5.93% or 1.06 points to end at 18.93 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) was up 4.35% or 0.20 points to 4.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which lost 1.36% or 0.41 points to trade at 29.66 in late trade. Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) declined 0.80% or 0.15 points to end at 18.58 and Kemira Oyj (HE:KRA1V) shed 0.61% or 0.06 points to 8.97.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 133 to 45 and 11 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 8.47% or 2.54 to $32.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 10.15% or 2.66 to hit $28.87 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.88% or 11.00 to trade at $1236.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.1235, while EUR/GBP fell 0.86% to 0.7757.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 96.08.
