Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Transport, Food & Beverages and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 8.87% or 0.630 points to trade at 7.730 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) added 4.52% or 1.68 points to end at 38.88 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL), which lost 3.49% or 0.76 points to trade at 21.04 in late trade. Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) declined 3.44% or 0.71 points to end at 19.94 and Aksa (IS:AKSA) shed 3.38% or 0.37 points to 10.58.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 207 to 198 and 7 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.62% or 6.50 to $1062.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.61% or 0.67 to hit $42.38 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.06% or 0.47 to trade at $45.34 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.60% to 2.9095, while EUR/TRY fell 0.82% to 3.0751.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 100.27.
