Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Construction and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.30% to hit a new all time low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 6.54% or 6.15 points to trade at 100.15 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 3.30% or 0.22 points to end at 6.89 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 2.16% or 0.55 points to 26.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which lost 8.12% or 6.35 points to trade at 71.82 in late trade. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) declined 5.07% or 2.28 points to end at 42.72 and mBank (WA:MBK) shed 3.19% or 11.10 points to 336.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 350 to 246 and 90 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.02% or 0.45 to $43.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.60% or 0.29 to hit $47.88 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.30 to trade at $1089.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.37% to 4.2545, while USD/PLN fell 0.58% to 3.9507.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 99.00.
