Investing.com - Crude oil futures were lower during the Asian session on Wednesday.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for February delivery traded at USD55.16 a barrel at time of writing falling 1.95%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD54.97 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD53.94 and resistance at USD59.79.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.19% to trade at USD88.23.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for February delivery fell 1.15% to trade at USD59.25 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD4.09 a barrel.
