Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Enersur SA (LM:ENE), which rose 3.33% or 0.250 points to trade at 7.750 at the close. Inretail Peru (LM:INR) added 2.55% or 0.350 points to end at 14.100 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was up 0.90% or 0.030 points to 3.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which lost 9.91% or 1.980 points to trade at 18.000 in late trade. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 8.00% or 0.220 points to end at 2.530 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 6.16% or 0.013 points to 0.198.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 4 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.16% or 0.43 to $36.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $38.98 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.99% or 12.30 to trade at $1232.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3540, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6989.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.66.
