Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Commercial Service And Supplies sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OSLO:AKAS), which rose 7.83% or 0.8 points to trade at 11.7 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL) added 6.93% or 3.9 points to end at 59.4 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT) was up 5.43% or 1.20 points to 23.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC), which lost 2.37% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.65 in late trade. Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OSLO:GJFS) declined 0.17% or 0.2 points to end at 116.0 and Opera Software ASA (OSLO:OPERA) shed 0.17% or 0.08 points to 47.92.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 120 to 55 and 3 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 5.20% or 2.32 to $46.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 4.07% or 1.95 to hit $49.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.72% or 19.00 to trade at $1121.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.60% to 9.1790, while USD/NOK fell 0.88% to 8.1222.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 95.41.
