Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.98% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 6.03% or 0.68 points to trade at 11.96 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) added 5.76% or 4.12 points to end at 75.64 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 5.26% or 291.40 points to 5834.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which lost 1.64% or 0.12 points to trade at 7.18 in late trade. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 1.38% or 0.05 points to end at 3.57 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) gained 0.17% or 0.02 points to 11.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 288 to 204 and 206 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 3.64% or 1.40 to $39.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 2.41% or 0.97 to hit $41.30 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 2.87% or 35.30 to trade at $1265.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.33% to 4.2757, while USD/PLN fell 1.12% to 3.7767.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.99% at 94.75.
