Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Food Producers and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AMS:OCI), which rose 3.34% or 0.805 points to trade at 24.930 at the close. ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) added 1.60% or 1.52 points to end at 96.72 and Randstad (AMS:RAND) was up 1.50% or 0.80 points to 54.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which lost 1.87% or 2.20 points to trade at 115.70 in late trade. KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) declined 1.67% or 0.054 points to end at 3.185 and Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) shed 0.84% or 0.08 points to 9.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 166 to 71 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.45% to 24.09 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.70% or 0.42 to $60.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.37% or 0.23 to hit $63.72 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.00 to trade at $1180.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1231, while EUR/GBP fell 0.70% to 0.7182.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 95.34.
