Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Media, Basic Materials and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.41% to hit a new all time low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 4.81% or 4.95 points to trade at 107.95 at the close. Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) added 4.18% or 2.88 points to end at 71.78 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 2.81% or 2.00 points to 73.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU), which lost 90.01% or 345.39 points to trade at 38.33 in late trade. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) declined 3.19% or 0.38 points to end at 11.52 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 2.98% or 0.74 points to 24.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 301 to 258 and 110 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.49% or 0.62 to $42.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.95% or 0.42 to hit $45.28 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.64% or 6.80 to trade at $1063.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.09% to 4.2671, while USD/PLN rose 0.17% to 4.0380.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 100.26.
