Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Trading and Plantations sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) added 11.71% or 2.40 points to end at 22.90 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 11.11% or 0.10 points to 1.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which lost 21.12% or 391.00 points to trade at 1460.10 in late trade. PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) declined 16.67% or 0.10 points to end at 0.60 and Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) shed 12.66% or 139.10 points to 960.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 77 and 25 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.35% or 0.56 to $41.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.44% or 0.63 to hit $44.47 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1061.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 2.21% to 209.290, while USD/LKR fell 3.50% to 138.280.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 98.36.
