Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Footwear & Textile and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Taprobane Holdings PLC (CM:TAPR), which rose 9.30% or 0.400 points to trade at 4.700 at the close. Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI) added 8.51% or 6.90 points to end at 88.00 and Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) was up 7.14% or 0.10 points to 1.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI), which lost 35.90% or 1005.40 points to trade at 1795.00 in late trade. Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) declined 24.81% or 3349.90 points to end at 10150.10 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) shed 17.28% or 13.60 points to 65.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 89 and 54 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $47.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $49.52 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.90% or 11.55 to trade at $1294.25 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.10% to 197.010, while USD/LKR fell 0.13% to 152.650.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 96.68.
