Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Motors, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which rose 20.55% or 341.00 points to trade at 2000.00 at the close. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) added 13.87% or 168.80 points to end at 1385.90 and Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) was up 11.25% or 9.00 points to 89.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which lost 22.34% or 21.00 points to trade at 73.00 in late trade. Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) declined 13.46% or 350.10 points to end at 2250.00 and Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL) shed 11.88% or 9.30 points to 69.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 71 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.87% or 0.62 to $33.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.84% or 0.65 to hit $35.94 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.52% or 6.40 to trade at $1232.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.20% to 201.235, while USD/LKR fell 0.19% to 143.995.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 97.47.
