Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Auto and Cement sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Abnova (TW:4133), which rose 9.94% or 3.15 points to trade at 34.85 at the close. Via Tech (TW:2388) added 9.89% or 0.71 points to end at 7.89 and Acbel (TW:6282) was up 9.87% or 2.35 points to 26.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tainan Cayman (TW:5906), which lost 9.96% or 0.26 points to trade at 2.35 in late trade. Chien Shing Ss (TW:2025) declined 9.89% or 0.27 points to end at 2.46 and Yoko Tech (TW:6131) shed 9.73% or 1.45 points to 13.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 571 to 273 and 1 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.85% or 0.34 to $41.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.62% or 0.27 to hit $44.00 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.15% or 1.60 to trade at $1070.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.57% to 32.782, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.1945.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 99.72.
