Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Property and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Energy Develop (PS:EDC), which rose 3.34% or 0.200 points to trade at 6.190 at the close. Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC) added 2.23% or 4.200 points to end at 192.300 and Semirara Minin (PS:SCC) was up 2.15% or 2.7000 points to 128.0000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Robi (PS:URC), which lost 2.14% or 4.100 points to trade at 187.900 in late trade. Petron (PS:PCOR) declined 2.08% or 0.160 points to end at 7.550 and Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP) shed 1.57% or 20.000 points to 1250.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 122 to 59 and 14 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.07% or 0.80 to $1140.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.20% or 1.00 to hit $44.41 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.83% or 0.91 to trade at $48.66 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.10% to 7.3525, while USD/PHP fell 0.06% to 46.718.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.57.
