Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META) revealed Monday it is now letting Facebook users post their non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the social media platform.
Users will be allowed to connect their cryptocurrency wallets and showcase their digital assets on Facebook, as has been the case on Meta-owned Instagram since May.
Meta said in an updated blog post: "As we continue rolling out digital collectables on Facebook and Instagram, we’ve started giving people the ability to post digital collectables that they own across both [platforms].
"This will enable people to connect their digital wallets once to either app in order to share their digital collectables across both."
The company, which started testing NFTs on Facebook earlier in the summer, made this move just a few weeks after it expanded access to Instagram's token functions in dozens more countries, Engadget noted.
Meta looks to be setting up an NFT marketplace, according to industry experts, but whether it will gain popularity is yet to be seen.
