Benzinga - Gracy Chen has parlayed her success as a TV journalist covering financial news and interviewing some of the big names from crypto, into becoming an entrepreneur, founder, and leader in the Web3 space.

Chen was an on-air journalist working for Phoenix Television, one of the largest media organizations in Asia. Her position allowed her to interview some of the leaders in the fintech space. She would later put the lessons she learned to good use as an early investor in the crypto market.

In an interview with Bitget, Chen said: "Initially, I mainly invested in the secondary market, such as BTC, ETH, and DOGE, gradually increasing my portfolio to include not only the secondary market but also the primary market."

Through her investments, Chen got to know the CEO of Bitget. The company states on its website that it is the "world's largest crypto copy trading platform, with over 110,000 elite traders and 520,000+ copy trading followers."

When Chen saw an opportunity to head their marketing department, she applied. Now, she's the managing director for Bitget and serves as the public face for the platform.

Chen is very bullish on AI technology. Her perspective was shaped by a 2015 interview with Ray Kurzweil, the co-founder and chancellor of Singularity University. Kurzweil, currently a Google director of engineering, leads a team focused on machine intelligence and natural-language understanding. His book, "The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology," also influenced her views.

Chen said in an interview: "I guess AI still cannot outperform human intelligence at the moment, but according to his predictions, AI might surpass us in 2045. I think that's quite amazing!"

Why Is Chen Someone To Watch In Web3?

Chen passionately promotes the mainstreaming of crypto and using AI to create tools that make it easier for people to enter the crypto space. Her appreciation and understanding of blockchain and AI, combined with her background as a professional speaker and interviewer, put her in a perfect position to be an emissary between traditional finance and crypto investing.

"If someone has never invested before, the first step is to build a small portfolio to get a taste for crypto because it's the future of currency. The Web3 industry is so new that there is a high demand for talent. Therefore, I hope those in traditional finance can learn more about crypto if they're interested in it and expand their horizons," Chen said.

Chen's public persona and interest in blockchain and AI as a way to onboard people outside the space into blockchain and crypto make her someone to watch in Web3 in 2023.
