Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Auto & components, Materials and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were DNO International ASA (OL:DNO), which rose 1.95% or 0.14 points to trade at 7.07 at the close. Frontline Ltd (OL:FRO) added 1.83% or 1.05 points to end at 58.50 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 1.68% or 0.82 points to 49.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which lost 5.99% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.02 in late trade. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) declined 2.95% or 0.38 points to end at 12.51 and SalMar ASA (OL:SALM) shed 2.31% or 4.40 points to 186.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 66 and 31 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.86% or 0.90 to $49.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.79% or 0.92 to hit $52.34 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 3.65 to trade at $1251.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.55% to 9.1668, while USD/NOK fell 0.02% to 8.5228.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 99.89.
