On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for February delivery traded at USD1197.50 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.23%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1194.40 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1182.00 and resistance at USD1225.00.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.12% to trade at USD89.56.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for March delivery rose 0.09% to trade at USD15.948 a troy ounce while Copper for March delivery rose 0.94% to trade at USD2.880 a pound.
