On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for August delivery traded at USD1296.70 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.77%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1293.10 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1293.10 and resistance at USD1346.80.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.28% to trade at USD80.44.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.22% to trade at USD20.868 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 0.07% to trade at USD3.251 a pound.
