On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for August delivery traded at USD1318.60 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.20%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1312.50 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1309.40 and resistance at USD1333.20.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.05% to trade at USD80.27.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.79% to trade at USD21.033 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 0.31% to trade at USD3.260 a pound.
