On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1159.40 a troy ounce at time of writing rising 0.03%.
Earlier, it traded at a session high USD1167.30 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1145.50 and resistance at USD1177.50.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.15% to trade at USD87.77.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for December delivery fell 0.19% to trade at USD15.593 a troy ounce while Copper for December delivery fell 1.33% to trade at USD2.985 a pound.
