On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for June delivery traded at USD1307.00 a troy ounce at time of writing rising 0.94%.
Earlier, it traded at a session high USD1307.20 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1278.30 and resistance at USD1307.20.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.11% to trade at USD80.10.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for July delivery rose 1.97% to trade at USD19.932 a troy ounce while Copper for July delivery rose 1.21% to trade at USD3.174 a pound.
