FLORENCE Italy (Reuters) - Europe's antitrust chief said on Friday that he may open more investigations in the coming weeks into corporate tax loopholes across Europe that allow companies to cut their tax bills.
"Maybe before leaving office, I will propose to the college (of commissioners) some other investigations in this area," European Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia told an International Bar Association conference.
Almunia earlier this year launched probes into such cases in Ireland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
