Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Transport and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 11.22% or 0.69 points to trade at 6.84 at the close. Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO) added 7.93% or 0.18 points to end at 2.45 and Tekstilbank (IS:TEKST) was up 4.13% or 0.090 points to 2.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE), which lost 5.45% or 0.750 points to trade at 13.000 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.17% or 0.010 points to end at 0.230 and Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) shed 3.61% or 0.060 points to 1.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 250 to 151 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.96% or 11.30 to $1166.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.25% or 1.04 to hit $45.25 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.61% or 0.79 to trade at $47.92 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.12% to 2.8968, while EUR/TRY fell 0.11% to 3.2887.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 94.96.
