Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 3.43% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which fell 0.05% or 0.004 points to trade at 7.577 at the close. NN Group (AMS:NN) fell 0.38% or 0.11 points to end at 28.88 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was down 0.49% or 0.13 points to 26.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which lost 8.17% or 1.07 points to trade at 12.09 in late trade. Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) declined 6.31% or 2.62 points to end at 39.01 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) shed 5.35% or 4.83 points to 85.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 198 to 19 on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 22.84% to 22.32 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.46% or 0.20 to $43.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.80% or 0.40 to hit $50.11 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.40% or 15.50 to trade at $1123.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.32% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP rose 0.86% to 0.7154.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.16% at 96.11.
