Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 2.18% or 0.150 points to trade at 7.030 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) added 1.84% or 0.45 points to end at 24.88 and Leonardo Finmeccanica SpA (MI:LDOF) was up 1.31% or 0.160 points to 12.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII), which lost 4.72% or 0.0168 points to trade at 0.3391 in late trade. Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO) declined 4.26% or 0.096 points to end at 2.160 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) shed 4.19% or 0.0920 points to 2.1020.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 246 to 154 and 20 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.17% or 0.08 to $45.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $46.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.25 to trade at $1226.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.0703, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8592.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 100.27.
