Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Media, Banking and Developers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 14.12% or 555.40 points to trade at 4490.00 at the close. PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) added 9.21% or 3.50 points to end at 41.50 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 3.47% or 6.15 points to 183.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 2.17% or 1.21 points to trade at 54.50 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 1.92% or 0.050 points to end at 2.550 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) shed 1.33% or 0.10 points to 7.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 271 to 261 and 184 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.70% or 0.34 to $48.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.88% or 0.44 to hit $50.63 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.55 to trade at $1314.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.08% to 4.2984, while USD/PLN rose 0.32% to 3.8335.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 95.65.
